HST/PS 393 provides an advanced examination of the history, politics, and environmental effects of oil exploration, development, and utilization. The course analyzes the politics of oil, both within specific countries and internationally; the commodity’s social and economic significance; and the global environmental effects of oil production and use. It will examine contemporary global challenges associated with course themes in depth.
