This course explores the concepts and principles of Stage Management, concentrating on organizational and management skills. Students learn to anticipate potential production problems, determine causes, and develop solutions to help promote the artistic achievement in a production. Prerequisite(s): Previous theatre production experience and instructor consent.

 

This is an introduction to the practice and art of Stage Management, focusing predominantly but not solely on Live Theatre. Topics include the production process, rehearsal and performance procedures, organization, communication, interpersonal relationships, and documentation.

 

The course will culminate in a completed prompt book.
