Congratulations on all of your work and dedication for learning about children with exceptionalities and their impact on families! Your reflections/papers throughout the course illustrated your curiosity, compassion, knowledge, leadership and desire for connections/relationships. All of these are great character strengths for educators and care providers. These core qualities will assist you to become the educator/care provider you desire to be.
Wishing you a well deserved winter break to take time for yourself. As many of the families in Elephant in the Playroom shared, self-care is essential. Enjoy your time with friends, family, a good book, a walk outside amongst the trees, relax and be present with all that you are grateful for. I am grateful to each of you for showing up each week and sharing your vision for supporting students with exceptionalities and their families to be their best selves, to be supported, and to become viable partners with teachers/schools.
