SPAN 101 (1971-FA21) - Beginning Spanish Language I

Welcome to SPANISH 101www!!!

 I have been in touch with many of you via email.  For this course, we are going to use the website that is associated with the textbook rather than Moodle.  Please contact me at rexs@sou.edu if you have not received the emails regarding the course format, textbook/website access/etc.  I am including the textbook info below to help you get started.  I look forward to working with you this quarter!

 TEXTBOOK AND WEBSITE ACCESS

This class will be run entirely through a companion website that goes along with the textbook.  In order to have access to the site, you will need to purchase a book with an access code (a used copy of the book doesn't typically come with an access code).  The publisher, Vista Higher Learning, has just set up a store specifically for our SOU classes at the following web address:

There are two basic options for the text/access code: a looseleaf textbook and access code or a vText and access code.  The vText option is cheaper - the text is an online text, so you will need to have internet access to use it.  It's up to you as to which option you wish to purchase.  We use the same textbook and site access for SPAN 101, 102, 103, 201, 202, and 203 (either in person or online), so you will be able to use the book all the way through June 2023.  The above site will take you to the SOU store page for Vista Higher Learning (VHL) where you can create an account and then see the purchasing options.  Please note that it may take a few days to get the materials after you order them.  Once you receive your materials, you can use the access code to enroll yourself in the course on the site.  This will give you access to all the activities, the calendar, other study resources, and the grade book.
