COUN 542 is designed to familiarize counseling students with the types and variety of research conducted within the field of counseling and counseling psychology.  Students will develop competencies in research design and evaluation, reviewing and critiquing professional literature, program evaluation, analyzing research findings, and drawing conclusions.  The goal is to enable graduate students to 1) become competent consumers of research and 2) develop skills for designing and evaluating applied research within a school, community, or other mental health setting. This version of COUN 542 is designed as a hybrid course with class meetings scheduled for weeks one, four, seven, and ten. The remainder of the course will be conducted using the textbook with its MyLab platform and Moodle with readings and assignments posted there.
