ALIVE: YOUR VOICE - THIS MOMENT is a media laboratory in which to connect to the self, and inspire each other as a group, through connecting, opening, exploring, sharing, and creating a media experience focused on one courageous transformational story from your life, distilling what has been learned about resilience BEFORE Covid, offering strength and skills to meet this harrowing time.

After establishing group rapport, fellow media makers will partner up for an hour long recording session each. This will involve deep witnessing of each other’s stories and drawing out the build up to the story, its impact as well as a discussion about what was learned to help you make it through this moment. From there, students will edit, shape and produce their own audio stories and insights to be integrated in your discipline(s) of choice to illuminate and interpret personal resilience using narrative and creativity. Students can choose to work solo or in groups of 2 or more.

Expanding on the initial audio recording, I invite students to integrate sound design, music, song, visual, and/or other experiential media such as but not limited to fine art, installation, animation, photography, movement, written/spoken word. The intention is to illuminate insights and resilience gained in your story and crafting transitions between stories, collaborating on a collective wisdom media quilt using voice and creative response to this moment.

The course will culminate in ALIVE: YOUR VOICE - THIS MOMENT a multimedia collective expression of resilience and courage in harrowing times of change. Each student will contribute a 3-5 minute story/ideation experience woven together with artful, collaborative transitions from piece to piece.
