COURSE CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION
Provides an intensive study of acting theory and technique. Builds an essential skill set of the acting craft and lays the groundwork for further study within the performance curriculum. Focuses on the core principles of acting, including; objective and action; small and large group collaboration; artistic discipline; and textual analysis. Builds a vocabulary of tools essential to further study within the craft.
CLASS DESCRIPTION
This course focuses on expanding and cultivating the actor’s inherent creativity through a rigorous study of the fundamental principles of Acting. Students will become fluent with the Actor’s vocabulary, including Objective, Actions, Obstacles, and the Given Circumstances. Through a variety of group and solo exercises, monologues and scenes, students will learn to imaginatively conceive of character, boldly pursue and play objectives and actions, authentically behave in imagined circumstances, and actively play with scene partners- Teacher: Domenique Lozano
