This class is for the technical theatre artist, actor, and educator. We will meet and work in the space where these worlds intersect in the creation of theatre for young audiences. Beginning with the history of theatre for young people we will continue to look forward into the emerging field of Theatre for Multigenerational Audiences (TMA). Topics in this class may include; an examination of traditional and participatory theatre, different storytelling needs for various ages, audiences with sensory sensitivities, giving life to puppets and props, Shakespeare for young audiences, and other theatre-in-education techniques.
